A Run That Keeps Dogs In

A dog run needs to be sized right for your dog, properly secured at the base so diggers can’t get under, and built to handle Manitoba’s freeze-thaw seasons without shifting or sagging. We get this right because we use the same frost-line post installation method on dog runs that we use for full-property fencing.
We build dog runs in chain link and welded wire. Chain link is the most popular — durable, see-through, and easy to clean. Welded wire is a rigid grid option suited to smaller dogs and companion animals.

Common Questions

Dog Run FAQ

What's the best fence for a dog run?

Chain link is the most common — strong, durable, and see-through so dogs aren’t frustrated by what’s on the other side. For smaller dogs and diggers, we can add a base rail or apron to prevent escaping underneath.

What height do you recommend for a dog run?

It depends on the breed. Most medium-to-large dogs do well with a 5- or 6-foot run. We’ll recommend the right height based on your dog’s size and jumping ability during your estimate.

Can dogs dig under chain link?

Determined diggers can. We can install a base rail along the ground line to make digging under the fence significantly harder. Ask about this option during your estimate.

Can you build a dog run on uneven ground?

Yes. We’re experienced with sloped lots and irregular terrain throughout Winnipeg. We’ll assess on-site and let you know the best approach.

Does a dog run include a gate?

Yes. Every dog run includes a gate, properly sized and hung. We’ll confirm swing direction on-site and adjust for a smooth, secure latch.

How long does installation take?

Most dog run installations are completed in a single day. We’ll confirm the timeline during your estimate based on the size of the run.
